BRARA General Membership Meeting minutes for 2-May-2023
The BRARA monthly association meeting was held via Zoom conference. The meeting was called to order by the President, Bruce KO4XL at 7:17pm local. Attending: 28 Zoom participants. Officers and directors provided an update of their club related activities. Tonight’s speaker is Anthony Luscre, K8ZT with a presentation on Exchange Confirmation – Did They Copy Me?

Mike reported that the April minutes have been uploaded to the BRARA Blog. Motion to accept Jeff S K4BH, seconded by Ralph W1DAR. Motion carried. New members Willem vanDam (Sjaak) W4RIS. 175 members.

Income includes $457.86 in memberships, $30 in donations, and $2,162 from auction.
Not included: monies collected for group antenna purchase.

Expenses include: $605.95 for air conditioner repair, $184.54 for new door lock, $209.86 for Zoom
subscription, and $61.25 for SunBiz registration for the state

Jay and I have been clearing up after the auction. Two people left to pick up their stuff. Getting items in for the next auction already.

Auction was a success. We brought in about $2200. Some stuff that is hard to sell will put online.

Status of Satellite station. Jan took home the elevation rotor and created an automated control for computer control. Planning to do the same with the azimuth control. Need a non-conductive mast. Bruce ordered one from Granger.

We’re a month out from Hurricane season. Need to get prepared. New radio club in Broward, the Parrot ARC will meet on the second Tuesday of the month at Winds Plus in Coral Springs. Gold Coast testing will begin on the 3rd Saturday at 10am. Location is the 1st Christian Church of Wilton Manors.

Tower recabling or inspection is needed for the crank up tower. Status of APRS relocation.

We had a nice turnout at Lucille’s BBQ. Time to RSVP for Sabai Thai on May 20.

We lost a member recently, Kevin Addison KM4RYN. He joined relatively recently.
The club made around 200 QSOs on the Florida QSO party
