Vice President Ralph W1DAR, called the meeting to order at 6:06 pm local.
Secretary’s Report: Mike K8BQ
Minutes for August 9 and August 26 meetings posted to the Blog. Jay moved to accept the August 9 minutes, seconded by Ralph. Motion carried. Jay moved to accept the August 26 minutes, seconded by Ralph. Motion carried. BRARA currently has 190 members. Radiator Grille motion passed August 9 to charge $5 starting the next Radiator Grille. Discussion to change that to charge starting next year and request donations for the next one this year. Lou motioned to override the motion to start charging for the Radiator Grille and replace it with to request donations for the November 2023 Radiator Grille by web, at the November meeting, or in a bucket at the event. Starting 2024 there will be a charge for attending the Radiator Grille. Ralph seconded the motion. The motion carried and will replace the previous motion passed on August 9.

We have a speaker for our October meeting. Michael Walker from Flex Radio
Membership Chair: Henry WA2ROA
Henry reported that not many have signed up for the September lunch. Lou suggested Victor’s Indian Palace for October. We could order off the menu or have the buffet. Brunch will be October 28. We need a replacement for Henry’s friend Artie to help with buying supplies for the Radiator Grille. Ralph volunteered to help. A go/no go Zoom call will be planned the day before at 9 am.
Member at Large: Lou K4LA
Lou will help with the sale of the 990S radio. Andrew will create the ad for QRZ. Jay and Barry cleaned up the rig and took new pictures. We’ll ask for $4975 to start. Lou needs a copy of our application for Director’s insurance.

So far, so good as far as the weather goes. We still need to keep our eyes open.

- Trip to Dauer Automotive Museum
- Attend model train show in November
- Club bus to Orlando. Possible group meal as well
- Kit building project
Mike will add the first three to the weekly mailing requesting replies and suggestions.
Training
Henry has had a number of inquiries about training and exams. Jeff can do a set of classes on Zoom. He needs to update for the latest exam for General. Is there interest in online testing? How would we go about it? ARRL VEC charges $15 for exam. Laurel is no charge for exam. We currently do not have a Laurel VE team leader for BRARA.
