BRARA General Membership Meeting minutes for 5-March-2024
The BRARA monthly association meeting was held via Zoom conference. The meeting was called to order by the Secretary, Mike Greenfeld K8BQ at 6:34pm local. Attending: 25 Zoom participants. Officers and directors presentprovided an update of their club related activities. Tonight’s speaker is Ian Barton VK5AIB, with a presentation about his crank up mast and a short video about an alternative design.

Mike reported that the February minutes have been uploaded to the BRARA Blog. Motion to accept the minutes made by Bruce KO4XL, seconded by Jay S N2ELG. Motion carried. Currently have 105 members current for 2024 with a total of 206 members including members in the grace period. Still looking for help with the web site.

- Delray Yacht Cruise March 30. Make your own reservations for 5:30 trip. Arrive at 4:30
- April 2 speaker will be Dave Vest, K8DV from DX Engineering. He is a customer service rep and will be talking about helping support hams over the phone
- Possible May speaker Robert Molleda from NOAA on Space Weather. June Hurricane Prep presentation
- Next Lunch April 20 at Casa Tequila
- Field Day June 22-23. Andrew KO4TZK and Darren N3NYL will be helping to organize and run it.

We’ve started to accumulate items for the next auction. Preparing with Jay. We need to reconnect with Laurel VEC for testing.

Jay reported on preparations for the Zoom Auction on March 9. He has been working with Bruce getting some donated computers running to replace older ones in the Shack.

Paul WA2FOF announced a VE test session at Valencia Bay March 29.
Palm Beach EOC is doing Skywarn training at the EOC March 16 from 10-1
Harold K4KZM offered to do a presentation on putting antennas in HOAs
Art WA8VSJ reported on the status of repairing the 2-meter external repeater amplifier. The transistor ordered does not make an improvement.
DMR is working ok. It was suggested to put timeslot and color code information where it can easily be found on the website.

Jeff S K4BH is looking for volunteers for the MS bike ride April 6&7. He is also starting to look for Winterfest volunteers December 14.
