BRARA General Meeting minutes for 07-June-2022

The BRARA monthly association meeting was held via Zoom conference. The meeting was called to order by the President, Bruce KO4XL at  7:18 pm local. Attending: 26 Zoom participants. Each attendee checked in with name, call, and location.  Officers and directors provided an update of their club related activities.

Having issues with the DMR repeater. We’ve lost the link to the internet so it is working self repeat only. The microwave link between the repeater and FAU has been lost because the antenna shifted at the site.

Secretary: Mike K8BQ

Minutes for the May general meeting have been added to the BRARA Blog. Motion to accept May minutes made by Jay S  N2ELG seconded by Joe N1JIW. Motion carried. Heading for document needs to be corrected.  New members from May; N4DRM Don McKennan, KC2Y Philip Koscielecki, WB2AUV Emil Senkowski. Current membership for 2022 is 169.

Treasurer: Bonnie KC2JVS

Bonnie provided a financial update for May. Total cash received was $188.80 which included memberships and $17.37 from Amazon Smile. May expenses were $183.53 which included $165.53 for the quarterly electric bill and $19.99 for the club Google Drive subscription. Pending expense of $481.07 for the Radiator Grille. Bonnie encouraged members to use Amazon Smile and select BRARA as the preferred charity.

There is currently a MARS exercise in progress. BRARA Simplex Exercise is this coming Saturday. Thanks Walt, Jay, and all others who helped with the security camera install at the Shack.

It was decided at the last Board meeting to not go with an expensive maintenance plan for the A/C.

Old Business

Badges – John C is talking with the SignMan. He will soon have a page on his site for BRARA

Shirts – Barry Gardner has contacted an embrodidery place who has a reasonable set up charge. Members will be able to deal directly with them.

Field Day June 25 and 26

• We will have three stations operating in class 3E
• There will be sign up sheets for operators online
• Planning to limit the number of people in the Shack at one time
• Canopy ouside over a couple of the tables if you want to hang out
• Henry has been doing media and public affairs outreach
• Lou will work with Henry to coordinate food
• Take home what you bring – minimize garbage on site
• Walt says the County will leave open the gate for us overnight
• Lou donated a coffee pod machine
