Minutes for the June 11 Board meeting have been posted to the BRARA Blog. Jay made the motion to accept the minutes. Second by Bruce. Motion carried.

Discussion on placing a mast by the Shack for use with an 18″ 10 GHz dish that could be installed on a temporary basis.

Discussion of fund raising. Should we increase what we charge for the Radiator Grille. Gold Coast charges $10 where they have food. We were pretty close to breakeven at our last Radiator Grille if we include the goodies we sold off. We could look into raising dues either 5 or 10 dollars. We currently have about 126 members so 5 dollars doesn’t make much of a dent.
Henry suggested increasing dues to $45.00 and sending out a letter explaining why this is needed.
Bruce suggested changing a life membership to 20 times a one year membership. The new rate would be 20 x 45 or $900.
Other memberships will also increase. Family membership to $10 and Associate membership to $15.
Barry made a motion that BRARA membership dues be increased to $45.00 annually effective for calendar year 2026. Associate membership will be $15.00 and family membership will be $10.00. Lifetime membership will be 20 times the annual rate. A letter will be sent out to the membership explaining this. The motion was seconded by Henry and was passed.
Vice President: Henry WA2ROA
Henry suggested possibly going to Ichiyami for our August lunch. After some discussion it was decided to go back to Bella Trattoria on August 16. Proposed date for the next Radiator Grille is November 1.
Miscellaneous Business:
Barry: AJ still wants the Alpha 76 for $500. Delray Awning has a metal frame awning with canvas cover for around $375.
Bruce: We need to keep Station 4 as simple as possible. It should use an antenna that doesn’t need manual tuning.
Barry: We have an 11 element tribander in the shed still in its box. Could be worth over 1K if we don’t plan to use it.
Bruce: Getting batteries for the small UPS’s in the Shack. Should be around $50 for two small ones and a mid size one.
