BRARA General Membership Meeting minutes for 5-November-2024
The BRARA monthly association meeting was held using Zoom conference. There were 22 attending via Zoom. The meeting was called to order by BRARA Vice President Henry Seidner WA2ROA at 6:40 pm local. Tonight’s speakers are David Sheppard W2PAX, who is the ARRL Southern Florida Section Traffic Manager and John Wells W4CMH who is an Official Relay Station for the National Traffic System (NTS), Liaison for the Southwest Florida Traffic Net and a Professional Teacher.

Mike has posted the October General Meeting minutes to the BRARA Blog. Henry, WA2ROA made a motion to accept the minutes. Bill WA2NCH seconded the motion to accept the minutes. The motion carried.

Barry, KO4FBU is doing great work for the association. Lou found the left tower in the extended position with no one present. That was how we ended up with the tower damage earlier this year.

Working to rearrange the desks and computer equipment in the Shack. Still accepting items for the auction. Looks like it will be in the spring.

The holiday lunch will be at Lucilles at the Delray Marketplace 12/14. There is no regular December meeting.

Ray Vaughan reported that there will be a drone show 11/9 at 7 pm at the Pompano Beach Pier.

Speakers: David Sheppard W2PAX and John Wells W4CMH
They presented an introduction to the National Traffic System (NTS), which is a field organization of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). The NTS has the objective to pass written messages around the United States through a series of formal networks that includes modes such as CW, SSB, Phone, Digital etc. They are planning to put together a longer how to training session in the future.
