BRARA minutes for 6-July-2021
The BRARA monthly association meeting was held via Zoom conference. The meeting was called to order by the President KO4XL at 7:20 pm local. Attending: 25 Zoom participants. Each attendee checked in with name call and location. Officers and directors provided an update of their club related activities.

Solar flux is giving good DX. He has catalogued the donation of old radios to the club. Bruce filled in additional detail that they will be made available to club members first.

Mike reported that the minutes for the June meeting are on the web site. Jay S N2ELG made a motion to accept the minutes as posted, seconded by Gary AB4LL. The motion carried. Mike then presented a membership update revised from the database. 140 Full members, 23 Family, 6 Life , 3 Associate 172 total. Two silent keys this year.
Treasurer; Bonnie KC2JVS
Bonnie presented the Treasurer’s report for the month of June 2021. She filed the annual FL State charitable organization documents. She also reported the club received donations from United Way and Amazon Smile.

Had a good 6 meter opening to Europe from Long Island using FT8. He placed 10th in the country in the January ARRL VHF Contest. He noted that the club needs to purchase a defibrillator for the Shack. It is something we should have and can afford.

Lou drafted an anti-discrimination and harassment policy for the club.

Email John if you want to submit a request for a new link to be added to the website. The website is continually changing as shown by the last change date but what changed is not always highlighted. He asked bruce for an update on Station 1. Bruce told the group that the SteppIR controller doesn’t automatically track the radio for now so it needs to be set manually. Station 3 is on the 4 band fan dipole. The club has a smart matrix circuit to install that will allow the use of any HF antenna from any rig once it is installed.

- Hurricane season has officially started you need to be prepared at home as well as with your go kit.
- Gold Coast has a picnic in VistaView park in Daviess this coming weekend.
- There is activity on SAR Net for Elsa.
