RESPONSE 3 BY: KM4EDR It has been my understanding that BRARA has a very diverse membership. Radio events and activities should reflect that.
RESPONSE 4 BY: K2LDK Field Day, VHF contests
RESPONSE 5 BY: K04RVD All local and other Florida events.
RESPONSE 6 BY: n2ehg some monthly breakfasts on weekends so all can. possibly attend. plus the usual ham events such as field days. etc...

RESPONSE 19 BY: NOT PROVIDED Field Day, VHF contests, DX contests
RESPONSE 20 BY: KE0MDJ all of the previous years,
RESPONSE 21 BY: K4YV I really enjoyed the group trip to the Orlando HamCation that we made pre-Covid. It was much more fun going and coming in a group (rather than driving myself), and it makes it easy to do the round trip in one day, and still have a full day at the hamfest. With the membership quite a bit larger than when we did this in the past, maybe it will be feasible to charter a real bus and professional driver, so that our members don't have to be saddled with the responsibility of doing the driving.
RESPONSE 22 BY: KO4ZOL Emergency communications exercises.
RESPONSE 23 BY: WS4BSA JOTA , More training on equipment at the shack, Wish the meeting were not on Tuesday night, May run a POTA, go to another park with 2mm radio to test simplex May be a road trip to places like the Navy seal museum, the antique car museum in Stuart, More nets Working on getting youth interested in the hobby
RESPONSE 24 BY: KA2TGQ Field day, Winter field day, VHF/UHF contests
RESPONSE 25 BY: WB1J Nothing comes to mind
RESPONSE 26 BY: KI700G I am to new to know what goes on.
RESPONSE 27 BY: KO4FBU We have resumed participation in both Field Days and should do as much as possible to get the lesser participating members involved. Perhaps one of the HF contests, sponsored either by ARRL or CQ might be a good way to promote license upgrades and give the HF crowd a goal.
RESPONSE 28 BY: WA2ROA I am pleased with the events and activities but would like to have more educational activities. Possibly a much organized effort to attend Hamcation in Orlando.
RESPONSE 29 BY: WA2FOF More CERT communications focus. Would like to know others in the club that are part of a CERT community, communication exercises for CERT communications, interface with the EOC etc. I would volunteer to take a role.
RESPONSE 30 BY: KK3W As many as possible. Field Days, major contests, etc. Maybe even a legendary annual hamfest!!
QUESTION-2. What social activities (other than breakfasts, lunches, Radiator Grilles) would you like BRARA to sponsor?RESPONSE 1 BY: KD4ASM none I can think of
RESPONSE 2 BY: KC2Y A 100 dollar, black tie sit down dinner...
RESPONSE 3 BY: KM4EDR Social activities are an excellent way for members to get to know one another. Those arranging social events will know by the attendance which activities are being successful.
RESPONSE 4 BY: K2LDK Kit building projects
RESPONSE 5 BY: K04RVD That covers all the events that I would attend
RESPONSE 6 BY: n2ehg perhaps some ways to learn about various aspects of ham, the digital modes , dmr, sat, maybe classes for new to be hams, how to's such as contests and other tech topics such as. how to build a dipole for newer hams. and or. building elec ckt boards. and perhaps also some. for more experienced hams as well. perhaps some. ARES/RACES like events to rep ham radio in the community at large. events. to. show the local business/police. what services. ARES etc does..
RESPONSE 7 BY: WA1KDS No preference
RESPONSE 8 BY: K4ANW Can’t go to events. To far to travel
RESPONSE 9 BY: KC2JVS Fox Hunt
RESPONSE 10 BY: N4RU December holiday party
RESPONSE 11 BY: W1JAY If there's a municipal 'party' in a park, we should set up a booth to show the public what we can do and invite them to talk on the radio.
RESPONSE 12 BY: N2QFT Can't think of any.
RESPONSE 13 BY: KN4WGR TRAINING FOR CURRENT AND NEW HAMS
RESPONSE 14 BY: KC2RFQ Gatherings for shack orientation New Member Welcoming
RESPONSE 15 BY: NOT PROVIDED NONE AT THIS TIME
RESPONSE 16 BY: NOT PROVIDED NONE
RESPONSE 17 BY: NOT PROVIDED Unknown
RESPONSE 18 BY: KO4TZK Some Social Activities I would attend is a Month Dinner that recaps what we accomplished this month and what we are doing next month
RESPONSE 19 BY: NOT PROVIDED Month Zoom gettogethers
RESPONSE 20 BY: KE0MDJ time is very hard to manage now so please keep everything the same & if new choices arise please let the members know & we all can decide
RESPONSE 21 BY: K4YV The pot-luck holiday party that we attended was really nice. I'd love to see that return, maybe even in mid-November so that it doesn't bunch up with all the other "holiday activities" that take place in December.
RESPONSE 22 BY: KO4ZOL No comment because I am not always available.
RESPONSE 23 BY: WS4BSA Super Bowl party on the air, Fox hunting, classes and event. Trip to Orlando, Stuart, and WPB ham fest
RESPONSE 24 BY: KA2TGQ None other
RESPONSE 25 BY: WB1J Christmas Party timed early in December. Radiator Grills timed to include snowbirds.
RESPONSE 26 BY: KI700G Maybe some classes in how to do things correctly.
RESPONSE 27 BY: KO4FBU While the lunches are terrific , it would have been a really nice jester to have had a "Year's End" or "Holiday" evening party held sometime in December. This might promote a better understanding for the spouses and give everyone a little "social face time"-- possibly this could be partially sponsored by the club or a "ticketed" event at a nice venue.
RESPONSE 28 BY: WA2ROA I am pleased with the weekly breakfasts, monthly lunches and Radiator Grilles. No more social activities I can think of. It would be in the members best interest to schedule the lunches and Radiator Grills with much more advance notice. Possibly the monthly lunch can be the third Saturday of every month at 1:00 PM so we can plan in advance. When holidays conflict we can deal with that on a case by case basis.
RESPONSE 29 BY: WA2FOF More community outreach, support promoting Amateur Radio in HOAs sponsor more remote classes.
RESPONSE 30 BY: KK3W Time to get over covid restrictions and do meetings in person instead of zoom.
QUESTION-3 What events and activities would you help organize?RESPONSE 1 BY: KD4ASM MS Bike Rides, Tour De Cure
RESPONSE 2 BY: KC2Y I'll have to get back to this question...
RESPONSE 3 BY: KM4EDR Unfortunately, my organizing days are not conducive with my current health issues.
RESPONSE 4 BY: K2LDK Kit builds, vhf contest effort (I have -0- contest experience
RESPONSE 5 BY: K04RVD Whenever I’m not traveling
RESPONSE 6 BY: n2ehg my day job not with standing ,, i'd be happy to support any club event that. needed my help. i am. a vec, so i can help admin tests, i am a EE by trade. so. i can do. presentations. or help tech people how to 'say. learn to solder properly'. I am mobile so i can walk around a class room. and when people get stuck soldering. i can help. . ARRL has some great. kit building n other learning. time activities.. dunno if interest is there but. if adv to kids. and adults. maybe enough for a class
RESPONSE 7 BY: WA1KDS I will be a helper or volunteer. I cannot do more, as I am a snow bird with uncertain schedule.
RESPONSE 8 BY: K4ANW N/A
RESPONSE 9 BY: KC2JVS Almost anything but a net, as my schedule allows
RESPONSE 10 BY: N4RU Not available at this time.
RESPONSE 11 BY: W1JAY Because I live out of town, unfortunately, I can't be much involved.
RESPONSE 12 BY: N2QFT Due to other commitments, I could only be a worker bee not an organizer. But would help in any I could.
RESPONSE 13 BY: KN4WGR DO NOT KNIW AT THIS TIME
RESPONSE 14 BY: KC2RFQ Field Day, Emergency Communication
RESPONSE 15 BY: NOT PROVIDED NONE
RESPONSE 16 BY: NOT PROVIDED HAVE NO TIME TO HELP
RESPONSE 17 BY: NOT PROVIDED Community & disaster stuff
RESPONSE 18 BY: KO4TZK I would help any and all activities that I am a free for. I really would like to create a enjoinment that is good for new members and welcomes them to the club
RESPONSE 19 BY: NOT PROVIDED Field Day, DX contest
RESPONSE 20 BY: KE0MDJ If I could an all YL event, or music & gab dx event hi
RESPONSE 21 BY: K4YV I would try to assist with any activity to which I can be of help with the organization and implementation.
RESPONSE 22 BY: KO4ZOL None - sorry don't have the time or experience.
RESPONSE 23 BY: WS4BSA JOTA, fox hunting
RESPONSE 24 BY: KA2TGQ Depends on my schedule, and other factors such as Covid.
RESPONSE 25 BY: WB1J Christmas
RESPONSE 26 BY: KI700G I am glad to help at the picnics.
RESPONSE 27 BY: KO4FBU when possible< I can assist in setup for Field days or contests. If the ongoing maintenance is considered an "activity" then I'm there already! Hi,Hi!!
RESPONSE 28 BY: WA2ROA I am happy to help plan all social activities. For ham radio events/activities I'm available on a case by case basis.
RESPONSE 29 BY: WA2FOF CERT focused events.
RESPONSE 30 BY: KK3W Any/All
QUESTION-4 Why did you join BRARA? What benefits of Membership do you use?RESPONSE 1 BY: KD4ASM mentorship camaraderie
RESPONSE 2 BY: KC2Y Socialize... The gathering locations...
RESPONSE 3 BY: KM4EDR BRARA afforded me an opportunity to rub elbows with the truly gifted radio hams.
RESPONSE 4 BY: K2LDK Thought joining the local repeater club would be a way of meeting local hams. I am surprised that there is so little 2 meter activity
RESPONSE 5 BY: K04RVD Get new information on what is happening in the ham radio world.
RESPONSE 6 BY: n2ehg i wanted to be part of the local club, use repeater!! and def be able to use the shack lowband gear etc. since i can't at my qth. also i was hoping to meet local hams. and grow my ham friend circle, sadly i have not been successful as i wished so far
RESPONSE 7 BY: WA1KDS I just joined but I am looking to get on the air at some point and to upgrade my license to general class.
RESPONSE 8 BY: K4ANW N/A
RESPONSE 9 BY: KC2JVS The shack, and the members I met
RESPONSE 10 BY: N4RU Meet other amateurs in the local area in person. Attend club presentations. Watch archived [presentations.
RESPONSE 11 BY: W1JAY I loved the guys! Good natured, good humoured and fun to be with. Benefits? They kindly programmed my DMR HT.
RESPONSE 12 BY: N2QFT I joined to meet other hand as we are new to the area. We attend the luncheons and radiator grille. Hope to start using the club shack.
RESPONSE 13 BY: KN4WGR TO LEARN AND USE VARIOUS PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ACCESS TO EDERS ALL CALL AND SIMPLEX FREQUENCIES
RESPONSE 14 BY: KC2RFQ Haven't yet availed myself of the club activities
RESPONSE 15 BY: NOT PROVIDED BEEN A MEMBER MANY YEARS
RESPONSE 16 BY: NOT PROVIDED BEEN A MEMBER OVER 20 YEARS
RESPONSE 17 BY: NOT PROVIDED Fellowship & Elmers
RESPONSE 18 BY: KO4TZK I joined BRARA as a space for questions and really a group of like minded people. I use my Shack key every once in a while to go the shack and operate. But I enjoy going on Saturdays to see everyone when I am able to. I also enjoy the breakfast group when I am not in school.
RESPONSE 19 BY: NOT PROVIDED joined to be part of the amateur radio community, meetings, shack
RESPONSE 20 BY: KE0MDJ in my opinion you really care for your members, & its a joy hanging and getting know everyone when its possible, the Shack is a great plus and I thank all the previous members who put it together, I also love the zoom meetings, etc & the non threatening friendly learning matter of the club, the Net is both DMR & Simplex...
RESPONSE 21 BY: K4YV I gave up my 2 acre antenna farm in Wellington, to "enjoy" the lifestyle of an all inclusive active senior community. That meant disposing of thousands of dollars of antennas, towers, and related equipment, and happened upon BRARA by accident when I wandered in the park with my grandkids one day. While there was no signage it was quite apparent that this was an amateur radio station, and after a bunch of calls to the parks department, I finally found someone who connected me with the club.
RESPONSE 22 BY: KO4ZOL read the website. use of shack for HF communications. Auctions. Meet other hams in the area.
RESPONSE 23 BY: WS4BSA I join because of Bruce Ratoff. I live between BRARA and WPBRC. I want to learn more on HF, I very good with DMR.
RESPONSE 24 BY: KA2TGQ Shack, meetings
RESPONSE 25 BY: WB1J Station. However, in recent years don't need shack and grills are when away.
RESPONSE 26 BY: KI700G I like going to the shed. Listening to pick up the do's and don't on the way to do things.
RESPONSE 27 BY: KO4FBU Camaraderie, finding an "Elmer", education, and the single biggest draw is the "shack". I really think that is the case with the vast majority of the membership, and firmly believe we (as a club) need to do a little "sprucing up" at the shack. Perhaps quarterly cleaning days, organization, to make the place look a little more "user friendly". Not the least of which would be to get some decent, comfortable and SAFE chairs for the HF room.
RESPONSE 28 BY: WA2ROA Interacting with other hams, social and ham radio events, educational activities and use of the shack. Unfortunately I do not get to the shack as often as I'd like.
RESPONSE 29 BY: WA2FOF Learning, networking, friendship.
RESPONSE 30 BY: KK3W Shack + resorces of knowledge.
QUESTION-5 Which events and activities do you least enjoy and why?RESPONSE 1 BY: KD4ASM neutral
RESPONSE 2 BY: KC2Y Haven't found one yet that I didn't care for...
RESPONSE 3 BY: KM4EDR All events and activities should afford an opportunity for enjoyment. Unfortunately, it has been a while since I've been able to participate.
RESPONSE 4 BY: K2LDK Haven’t participated in any…did go to a breakfast once…
RESPONSE 5 BY: K04RVD Things outside of Florida
RESPONSE 6 BY: n2ehg I do enjoy the food related get togethers, helping. admin testing, i love field days. n always enjoyed when a. presenter was. teaching something i like to learn
RESPONSE 7 BY: WA1KDS none so far.
RESPONSE 8 BY: K4ANW N/A
RESPONSE 9 BY: KC2JVS I don’t participate in nets so can’t say I enjoy them or not
RESPONSE 10 BY: N4RU Nothing comes to mind.
RESPONSE 11 BY: W1JAY I like monthly Zoom meetings because it lets me see these great guys and maintain the camaraderie.
RESPONSE 12 BY: N2QFT Can't think of any.
RESPONSE 13 BY: KN4WGR NOT BEING FACE TO FACE DUE TO COVID-19
RESPONSE 14 BY: KC2RFQ Haven't participated yet. Can't opine.
RESPONSE 15 BY: NOT PROVIDED NETS
RESPONSE 16 BY: NOT PROVIDED PASS
RESPONSE 17 BY: NOT PROVIDED Asking for help w/projects & being ignored
RESPONSE 18 BY: KO4TZK I do not enjoy when we do not complete projects and I get tons of emails about that I am not interested in
RESPONSE 19 BY: NOT PROVIDED n/a
RESPONSE 20 BY: KE0MDJ none
RESPONSE 21 BY: K4YV While there are some things that I don't personally enjoy, it seems like every activity has its own subgroup, followers, and participants. I would not want to think my interests will over-ride the interests of others.
RESPONSE 22 BY: KO4ZOL contests - rapid qso and not meaningful to me.
RESPONSE 23 BY: WS4BSA Wish I could do breakfast but I work.
RESPONSE 24 BY: KA2TGQ I enjoy them all. Sometimes at the meetings members become too "long winded"; a maximum amount of time ( ie, 2-3 minutes ) should be allowed each participant with no cross discussion. It is annoying, to me, listening to all the "stories".
RESPONSE 25 BY: WB1J no comment
RESPONSE 26 BY: KI700G Only been to one.
RESPONSE 27 BY: KO4FBU I am not a real "contester" so that aspect has never been a big draw to me-- mostly because I am unable to commit to the time required to be even semi-successful.
RESPONSE 28 BY: WA2ROA I do not participate in many nets and the one one or two that I try to attend are not very interesting.
RESPONSE 29 BY: WA2FOF None, like them all.
RESPONSE 30 BY: KK3W The ones held daytime on weekdays, because I can’t be there
QUESTION-6 In what areas should BRARA sponsor educational/training sessions/classes?RESPONSE 1 BY: KD4ASM Licensing
RESPONSE 2 BY: KC2Y Basic Spanish...
RESPONSE 3 BY: KM4EDR I would highly recommend educational/training sessions/classes at all levels of efficiency. As I recall, many "new-bees" felt intimidated by the experienced radio ham operators and, consequently, did not attend as often as they could or should.
RESPONSE 4 BY: K2LDK Again group building of kits
RESPONSE 5 BY: K04RVD Ham related topics
RESPONSE 6 BY: n2ehg def all the ham. related stuff. but maybe some other ham related things like balloons might attract. more kids def at least teach them some STEM stuff. as that touchs lots of diff disp, I'd love. to learn GROL, they say. it's related to Extra. might be a logical next step for a class
RESPONSE 7 BY: WA1KDS license upgrade is important to me. Maybe educational sessions would help.
RESPONSE 8 BY: K4ANW Trying and classes online
RESPONSE 9 BY: KC2JVS License exams, setting up personal stations and antennas, use of shack equipment
RESPONSE 10 BY: N4RU FT-8 setup and operations.
RESPONSE 11 BY: W1JAY Licence preparation. Demo how to use equipment, install antennas. Maybe spend more time doing automobile installations so we can have neat professional jobs with hidden wires. Hey, I'd come back for that! 🙂
RESPONSE 12 BY: N2QFT All licenses and code. Antenna construction. The ICS classes and Em Com
RESPONSE 13 BY: KN4WGR DMR ZOOM CLASSES
RESPONSE 14 BY: KC2RFQ Antenna Construction, Stealth Operations, Installation techniques etc. Morse Code Licensing Signal Propagation VHF/UHF Repeater communications Stealth
RESPONSE 15 BY: NOT PROVIDED TESTNG AND CLASSES
RESPONSE 16 BY: NOT PROVIDED SHOULD RESUME ALL TESTING AND ALL CLASSES
RESPONSE 17 BY: NOT PROVIDED Ham licenses, winlink, SDR, etc
RESPONSE 18 BY: KO4TZK We NEED to have at least one class and testing session per quarter not only to have more hams but to grow the club. We need to become a club that lasts for ever not one that fizzles out in a decade.
RESPONSE 19 BY: NOT PROVIDED digital modes, many are not aware of how to use and set them up
RESPONSE 20 BY: KE0MDJ I would love to see on hands license training in the non technician, so General, Extra etc..
RESPONSE 21 BY: K4YV Programs that are attractive to Junior High School age students (grades 7 to 10) would be very valuable in possibly winning over potential new hams, among the group who are spending most of their time with their nose on their phones. Also, a program targeted at the spouses of members, to try to give them a better understanding and appreciation of ham radio would be very useful, even if they never quite reached the point of getting licensed.
RESPONSE 22 BY: KO4ZOL newer technologies, digital communications, licensing and maybe VE training
RESPONSE 23 BY: WS4BSA Tech license cram session at JOTA and test session.
RESPONSE 24 BY: KA2TGQ Continue offering classes
RESPONSE 25 BY: WB1J no comment
RESPONSE 26 BY: KI700G Yes please any classes on learning how to do things correctly.
RESPONSE 27 BY: KO4FBU I think we should find a way to get back to license testing, perhaps with an occasional training session. This would require doing this somewhere other than the shack. I would get my VE and help with that!!!! Other training opportunities: !. Shack operation (radios, antennas, etc.) 2. FT8 -digital ops 3. HF DXing 4. EME/ VHF ops
RESPONSE 28 BY: WA2ROA License upgrades (for me the Extra) and learning about current and new technologies such as the best logging program options, FT8, satellite, etc.
RESPONSE 29 BY: WA2FOF Help promote amateur radio to communities.
RESPONSE 30 BY: KK3W The more local younger ham we get, the more activity in the club.. sponsoring in this field is an investment for the future. So YES, all areas from getting the license to creating a social evironment for new hans.
QUESTION-7 During BRARA monthly meetings, what topics should be covered? What should the format be?RESPONSE 1 BY: KD4ASM Open anything the members may find interesting
RESPONSE 2 BY: KC2Y I'm not up on the monthly meetings...
RESPONSE 3 BY: KM4EDR Topics for monthly meetings probably should be on track with what's new or "hot" at the time. Conversely, bringing in a topic of historical value can also be truly enlightening and interesting.
RESPONSE 4 BY: K2LDK Antenna design and construction. Perhaps lessons in using HRD and digital modes.
RESPONSE 5 BY: K04RVD Anything new
RESPONSE 6 BY: n2ehg some clubs. i visited had a structures w/club updates, ham news, and then. a presenter w/various topics. usually ham related(see above)
RESPONSE 7 BY: WA1KDS I have never attended a meeting.
RESPONSE 8 BY: K4ANW Dmr topics
RESPONSE 9 BY: KC2JVS I like Zoom meetings and would consider an occasional in person meeting or hybrid meeting if logistics could work
RESPONSE 10 BY: N4RU Existing format is fine.
RESPONSE 11 BY: W1JAY Getting on the air in anti-antenna communities. How to use D-Star, How to use DMR
RESPONSE 12 BY: N2QFT I like the way it is set up now. If there was a speaker who needed more time, comments from members could be limited or eliminated for that particular meeting.
RESPONSE 13 BY: KN4WGR PROJECTS
RESPONSE 14 BY: KC2RFQ Format - Local gathering and Zoom
RESPONSE 15 BY: NOT PROVIDED GREAT AS IT IS
RESPONSE 16 BY: NOT PROVIDED PROPER USE OF CLUB EQUEIPMENT
RESPONSE 17 BY: NOT PROVIDED Unknown, can’t attend due to work
RESPONSE 18 BY: KO4TZK Slide show or presentation style. We need training on shack rigs like the 7600s, the 7300 VHF/UHF room etc.
RESPONSE 19 BY: NOT PROVIDED Speakers should not have to wait until everyone at the meeting gets to say something, that should come after the speaker, meeting should open, president should make opening remarks, then speaker, then business meeting, then members can speak
RESPONSE 20 BY: KE0MDJ The meetings have cover a variety of topic's, the ones that should always be included once a year or season is when the Mean Season Starts, the weather, prep, emergency channels, the format is fine if anyone thinks there should be changes then bring it up in the meetings
RESPONSE 21 BY: K4YV The transition to ZOOM monthly meeting seemed strange at first, but has been shown to be very beneficial I feel like the format that was initiated as very helpful in meeting all of the participating members, learning their interests and skills, and engaging lively dialog as a whole group. This is in contrast to the old meetings in the library, which typically degenerated into discussions among small groups of members who knew each other well, and did not encourage much interchange among the ne
RESPONSE 22 BY: KO4ZOL technical and how-to topics. e.g. antennas for condos
RESPONSE 23 BY: WS4BSA All topics, both in person and online, What are the Benefits of ARRL membership, logging software.
RESPONSE 24 BY: KA2TGQ Ham radio topics should be covered,
RESPONSE 25 BY: WB1J Very difficult to plan. Anything a good thing.
RESPONSE 26 BY: KI700G Open
RESPONSE 27 BY: KO4FBU Format -- IN PERSON!!! NOT during dinner!!! 6PM to 7PM is the dinner hour for most folks. I understand the need for evening or even weekend hours to include the "working folks" but even for us old frogs 6PM is just way too inconvenient. Perhaps a Saturday morning followed by lunch?? Topics -- current DX, product reviews, station setups, grounding, HOAs (ugh!), antenna projects.
RESPONSE 28 BY: WA2ROA I think the initial time to chat before the meeting is good. When we do a round table for everyone to say hello when the meeting begins, we should limit the amount of time some members take. Some are brief and to the point about what they have been up to and some (the same members) go on and on. We also need to end the meeting on time to be respectful of our guest speaker so they can begin on time.
RESPONSE 29 BY: WA2FOF Enjoy the virtual sessions and look forward to face to face when it is safe.
RESPONSE 30 BY: KK3W Topics should be as is,. what is importaint to highlight and discuss. Format should be physical (and not Zoom), at least for the months the snowbirds are here.
QUESTION-8 What on air nets should we sponsor and/or participate in?RESPONSE 1 BY: KD4ASM DMR
RESPONSE 2 BY: KC2Y South CARS...
RESPONSE 3 BY: KM4EDR If memory serves, there were always two on air nets every week from BRARA.
RESPONSE 4 BY: K2LDK How about a slow CW net
RESPONSE 5 BY: K04RVD Not sure
RESPONSE 6 BY: n2ehg there is a bunch of the usual, for sale, tech, dx, i'd like to see a. rag chew. everytime i turn on the repeater i don't hear anyone 90% of the time, perhaps something to get more hams to use/join in for local chats? also nice if amateur radio news line/rain reports. were played as they come out etc.
RESPONSE 7 BY: WA1KDS Not known at this point.
RESPONSE 8 BY: K4ANW N/a
RESPONSE 9 BY: KC2JVS I have no opinion
RESPONSE 10 BY: N4RU Existing nets appear sufficient.
RESPONSE 11 BY: W1JAY Jamboree (Scouts) on the Air. If there's a long distance net, e.g. with hams in Israel, that could be fun.
RESPONSE 12 BY: N2QFT I don't have an antenna yet, so it's not fair for me to answer this.
RESPONSE 13 BY: KN4WGR PROVIDE A LIDT AND I WILL PRIORITIZE WEEKLY AND IF ANY DAILY UPDATES OCCUR
RESPONSE 14 BY: KC2RFQ not sufficiently aware to answer
RESPONSE 15 BY: NOT PROVIDED WHEN HOLDING NETS CLUB CALL SIGN SHOULD BE USED
RESPONSE 16 BY: NOT PROVIDED PASS
RESPONSE 17 BY: NOT PROVIDED Ragchew, disaster, DMR
RESPONSE 18 BY: KO4TZK Keep doing Monday Net. We should try a simplex or SSTV net something to try out
RESPONSE 19 BY: NOT PROVIDED no opinion
RESPONSE 20 BY: KE0MDJ I can't say don't have to much knowledge on that, whatever works is fine.
RESPONSE 21 BY: K4YV It appears to me that the club is already involved with Nets for a wide range of interests. An HF SSB ragchew gab session might be fun, maybe on 10 Meters where there is lots of free bandwidth and much less noise on my other HF bands.
RESPONSE 22 BY: KO4ZOL no comment
RESPONSE 23 BY: WS4BSA DMR , and rag chew, I heard about a history net just can’t remember the name.
RESPONSE 24 BY: KA2TGQ What we presently participate in and sponsor
RESPONSE 25 BY: WB1J no comment
RESPONSE 26 BY: KI700G Do not know. To new.email
RESPONSE 27 BY: KO4FBU Personal opinion is we have that covered
RESPONSE 28 BY: WA2ROA I am not really a net person but educational nets would be valued.
RESPONSE 29 BY: WA2FOF CERT net not well attended, would like to see the club really promote the net and make it more formal. Rob has made a good start but needs more support from the club.
RESPONSE 30 BY: KK3W We’ve been 3 people in average checking in to the Monday night club net the last 3 months(!!!) Not always even been someone to host it. This shows potential members that there are «no interest» in the club. Get this net a bit more crowded before even talking about other nets!
QUESTION-9 What is the best way for BRARA to communicate (Web, e-mail, groups.io.)? What kind and frequency of communications do you prefer?RESPONSE 1 BY: KD4ASM all the above Weekly or when special circumstances call for it
RESPONSE 2 BY: KC2Y Email...
RESPONSE 3 BY: KM4EDR The best form of communication these days still seems to be e-mail. Additionally, using text messages for reminders and emergencies works well too.
RESPONSE 4 BY: K2LDK You are doing a great job
RESPONSE 5 BY: K04RVD Email and group.io
RESPONSE 6 BY: n2ehg normal non time sensitive stuff email, phone is great either in general. or for sure for. time sensitive /emerg stuff
RESPONSE 7 BY: WA1KDS Email is the best as I can get it from anyplace, I travel to.
RESPONSE 8 BY: K4ANW N/a
RESPONSE 9 BY: KC2JVS Weekly updates, notifications on groups I.o., and nets Only one email per week unless absolutely necessary Update on website
RESPONSE 10 BY: N4RU Email sent twice/month.
RESPONSE 11 BY: W1JAY E-mail, once a week. I think emails sent more than that might not be tended to as much.
RESPONSE 12 BY: N2QFT You are doing good the way it is
RESPONSE 13 BY: KN4WGR WEEKLY AND DAILY AS NEEDED
RESPONSE 14 BY: KC2RFQ Email frequency could be reduced or consolidated. groups.io seems good for the needs of specific topics, e.g, "for sale" etc.
RESPONSE 15 BY: NOT PROVIDED FINE AS IS
RESPONSE 16 BY: NOT PROVIDED WORKS AS IT IS
RESPONSE 17 BY: NOT PROVIDED E-mail, technical info in terms I’m able to understand.
RESPONSE 18 BY: KO4TZK The Website / Email is the best The groups.io is clunky to me. Once a day max
RESPONSE 19 BY: NOT PROVIDED email, unless very important not more than 2 per week
RESPONSE 20 BY: KE0MDJ live in person or zoom, when you can't land line works, its still the best way, e-mail io groups I belong to many and they take up lots of e-mail space.
RESPONSE 21 BY: K4YV I think that regular email blasts are the best, in that I think most people check their email multiple times a day, but do not log into the club website nearly as often.
RESPONSE 22 BY: KO4ZOL email is very good. weekly or monthly is good period
RESPONSE 23 BY: WS4BSA Like getting email and group.ip. I am on DMR Brandmister TGs and 2m 145.29. Wish more club members hung out to tag chew.
RESPONSE 24 BY: KA2TGQ e-mail is best
RESPONSE 25 BY: WB1J text
RESPONSE 26 BY: KI700G Email and text gets me quicker. I received.your emails.
RESPONSE 27 BY: KO4FBU The group.io is really nice ( can photos be attached?) The weekly update emails are very good and perhaps could contain some more info - propagation forecast, updated shack projects, upcoming contests, etc. maybe even a bi-weekly column (different authors or a board member) -- just keep the WHOLE group up to date and encourage everyone's input! We have some extremely bright folks out there and we need to hear their wisdom!
RESPONSE 28 BY: WA2ROA Web, e-mail, groups.io are good. Many members feel we send out too many e-mail communications and therefore they do not pay attention. Once a week is appropriate if a member is truly interested in the club and activities. A reminder the day of the monthly meeting would not hurt but members should add regularly occurring events into their calendars. The website should always have the club meetings and activities up to date and the members can always go there. I have run out of space on this form.
RESPONSE 29 BY: WA2FOF The current E-Mail system works very well for me.
RESPONSE 30 BY: KK3W Facebook Group!! Those not on FB should create an account just for that! Email is very old fashioned, and limiting our possibilities to share interesting stuff. (Limited attachments, feels too much sending an email, etc.) For those that still want emails, rather have them set up email notifications from the FB group.
QUESTION-10 Can we do a better job with our current member communications and if so in what way?RESPONSE 1 BY: KD4ASM No I think you do a great job
RESPONSE 2 BY: KC2Y The existing communications are fine...
RESPONSE 3 BY: KM4EDR Current member communications have always been most informative and helpful. The bottom line, in my opinion, regarding communications is to make members feel appreciated and encouraged to inquire about any topic.
RESPONSE 4 BY: K2LDK Don’t think so
RESPONSE 5 BY: K04RVD You do great
RESPONSE 6 BY: n2ehg didn't have any issues
RESPONSE 7 BY: WA1KDS no
RESPONSE 8 BY: K4ANW None
RESPONSE 9 BY: KC2JVS Only one email per week!
RESPONSE 10 BY: N4RU Attach one short member biography to each BRARA email.
RESPONSE 11 BY: W1JAY I think you're doing a superb job.
RESPONSE 12 BY: N2QFT Can't think of any.
RESPONSE 13 BY: KN4WGR WE CAN ALWAY DO BETTER AT EVERYTHING- DO NOT KNOW PROVIDE A LIST

RESPONSE 15 BY: NOT PROVIDED FINE AS IS
RESPONSE 16 BY: NOT PROVIDED PASS
RESPONSE 17 BY: NOT PROVIDED Unknown
RESPONSE 18 BY: KO4TZK Doing good
RESPONSE 19 BY: NOT PROVIDED send minutes to members after meeting via email or post on website and email to members about what occurred at the meeting
RESPONSE 20 BY: KE0MDJ I think it all works out but I would like more space for YL activities & maybe younger groups in the future
RESPONSE 21 BY: K4YV If something is worth posting on the website, then it is worth notifying the membership via email.
RESPONSE 22 BY: KO4ZOL I don't think so
RESPONSE 23 BY: WS4BSA I think the club communication is great.
RESPONSE 24 BY: KA2TGQ presently OK
RESPONSE 25 BY: WB1J no comment
RESPONSE 26 BY: KI700G I received your email
RESPONSE 27 BY: KO4FBU see above (#9)
RESPONSE 28 BY: WA2ROA When a specific issue/chain is brought up on the groups.io, the members involved should communicate directly and not flood members not interested in the topic with e-mails. This is very important and will help cut down on the feeling that members are being flooded with e-mails.
RESPONSE 29 BY: WA2FOF No issues that I can see.
RESPONSE 30 BY: KK3W Weekly emails with ongoing events are fine, but we should stop announcing events that are not happening. Too much repeating og the same stuff that are not major enough to be headlines of multi-weekly newsletters.
QUESTION-11 How did you find out about BRARA (website, ARRL, repeater, drove by the park, talked to member, etc.)?RESPONSE 1 BY: KD4ASM Web search
RESPONSE 2 BY: KC2Y I was a member originally more than 25 years ago and learned of its existence on one of the local repeaters...
RESPONSE 3 BY: KM4EDR A long time ago when my community was promoting ham radio, the then BRARA folks in authority were very helpful in getting us "up-and-running."
RESPONSE 4 BY: K2LDK Scanned the 2 meter band for the strongest signal
RESPONSE 5 BY: K04RVD Website

RESPONSE 11 BY: W1JAY It was so many years ago, I don't recall. A member ham, whom I had QSO'd with, on a net, told me of BRARA. I went to the Shack, then out for lunch with them and was hooked. That was probably in 2016.

RESPONSE 19 BY: NOT PROVIDED from member
RESPONSE 20 BY: KE0MDJ member, & checked out on line.
RESPONSE 21 BY: K4YV I started to write in answer to a question above, I found the club quite by accident when I brought my grandkids to the park to see what was here. It took some effort to find out how to contact the club, but it was obvious that it must be a ham station, and less than 5 miles from my house.
RESPONSE 22 BY: KO4ZOL I think it was ARRL website last year
RESPONSE 23 BY: WS4BSA From Bruce Ratoff at JOTA back in 2013.
