BRARA General Membership Meeting Minutes for May 5, 2026
The BRARA monthly association meeting was held in person and using Zoom conference. There were 7 attending via Zoom and 16 in the library. The meeting was called to order by BRARA President Ralph Mele W1DAR at 6:33 pm local, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. We then did a quick round of introductions going around the room and on Zoom. Our speaker this month is John Kruk, N9UPC, National Sales Manager for Yaesu. He will talk about Yaesu products and digital radio.

Mike has posted the April General Meeting minutes to the BRARA Blog. Jeff S K4BH made a motion to accept the minutes seconded by Henry K N0HNK. Motion was carried. Current membership is 122.

Income: $1,072.06
Income includes: $331.06 in memberships, $305 from Radiator Grille, $36 in donations, and $400 for equipment sale at Stuart Hamfest
Not included: exact breakdown of Radiator Grille income
Expenses: $809.97
Expenses include: $86.23 for desk materials not cleared in March, first quarter electric bill of $232.82, $26 for one month Constant Contact, $3.67 for miscellaneous hardware, $400 for Radiator Grille food and other expenses, $61.25 for SunBiz registration
Not included: $252 for back ordered AED battery
Above amounts include reserve funds of $5,000
Balance available for operating capital after deposits and expenses clear: $9,261.62
Although we are a tax exempt organization, we are required to file a federal return each year. This was done this month. In addition, Florida requires a financial filing which I made after I filed our federal form. Florida also requires registering on the official SunBiz website by May first of each year. Our official agent, Bruce Ratoff, did so for a fee of $61.25.

Gold Coast is inviting BRARA members to join them for Field Day in Quiet Waters Park at the Bald Eagle Pavilion. They are asking for $20 for meals.

Discussion repeater relocation at FAU. Need an MOU with them. Will check out the proposed site on Bldg 96.
