BRARA General Membership Meeting Minutes for April 7, 2026
The BRARA monthly association meeting was held in person and using Zoom conference. There were 6 attending via Zoom and 18 in the library. The meeting was called to order by BRARA President Ralph Mele W1DAR at 6:33 pm local, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. We then did a quick round of introductions going around the room and on Zoom. Our speaker this month is ARRL Radiosport and Regulatory Manager Bart Jahnke W9JJ. He will have a presentation about LoTW and awards.

Ralph did an update on the work Barry did building a table for the VHF room. Ralph updated BRARA LoTW and we have 298 countries. If you work something please also work it for the club. FAU students are welcome to come visit and operate.

Will be setting up for Radiator Grille this weekend. We need help starting at 8 AM or so moving things from the shed and getting set up. If you have anything for the small sale t5ables you are welcome to bring it.

Spring Radiator Grille coming up this weekend. $5 donation requested. Monthly lunch around third Saturday, None this month. Next month at a Colombian restaurant. Tuesday unofficial breakfast at Poppies. Unofficial lunch at Ichiyami around fourth Thursday.

Expenses include: $211.67 for shack lock and keys not cleared in February , $949 for liability insurance, $3.20 for cards for good and welfare, $29.99 for a google one account, $402.65 for desk, $52 for 2 months of Constant Contact,$38.20 for misc supplies, and $37.92 for cables
Not included: $236 for back ordered AED battery, $86.23 for desk materials not cleared in March, first quarter electric bill of $232
Above amounts include reserve funds of $5,000

Mike has posted the April General Meeting minutes to the BRARA Blog. Jay S N2ELG made a motion to accept the minutes seconded by Jeff S K4BH. Motion was carried. New members Cy Stanway K2CYS, KO6IRW Amanda Green, N3JSK Jacob Klostreich. .
Membership as of today, 98 paid for 2026 plus 14 Life members giving a total of 112.
Other Announcements:
Informal meetup at FAU Monday evenings. Information on FAU club can be found at K4FAU@fau.edu.
Jeff K4BH – Parrot club planning a series of POTA events. Zoom meetings only. Parrotarc.org is its web site. Jeff starting online General class. Will do Extra later this year.
Harold has fixtures for making simple vhf/uhf ground plane antennas.
