General Membership Meeting February 2026

BRARA General Membership Meeting Minutes for February 3, 2026

The BRARA monthly association meeting was held in person and using Zoom conference.  There were 16 attending via Zoom and 18 in the library. The meeting was called to order by BRARA President Ralph Mele W1DAR at 6:30 pm local, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Our speaker this month is Gino Morello, N2TBN from Veritium Research in Fort Lee, NJ who will be presenting on his company’s HFClock family of Internet connected clock systems.

Board members and officers present: Ralph W1DAR, Benett AC2NI, Mike K8BQ, Jay S N2ELG, Bonnie KC2JVS, Henry WA2ROA.

President: Ralph W1DAR

Repeater site search.  FAU is at their legal department. Lynn University, nothing new. Jeff K4BH suggested talking to a TV station to get some publicity that we are looking for a site. Other suggestions were to speak to government officials.

Secretary: Mike K8BQ

Mike has posted the January General Meeting minutes to the BRARA Blog. Paul KX4QI made a motion to accept the minutes seconded by Henry W0HNK. Motion was carried.

Membership as of today, 83 paid for 2026 plus 14 Life members for a total of 97.

January 31, 2026                Available Balance                $15,300.64

Income:  $1,846.21

Income includes:  $1,095.21 in memberships and $751 from Radiator Grille deposit cleared after new year

Expenses:  $607.35

Expenses include:  $206.27 for quarterly electric bill and $153.12 for storage rack, $26 for Constant Contact, and $222.06 for computers and memory for shack

Above amounts include reserve funds of $5,000

Balance available for operating capital after deposits and expenses clear:  $ 10,300.64

KO4FBU, Barry and crew cleared a lot of stuff out of the shed. BRARA donated usable items to the Scouts.

The satellite station is functional. Jan, KK3W needs to put together an operating guide. George WA2VNV, Harold K4KZM, and I worked the VHF contest.

Helped with the shed as well as clearing out the Shack closet.

Next month’s speaker will be Palm Beach County Commissioner Greg Weiss who will speak about AI. Lunch on 2/21 at Lucille’s BBQ.

Jeff K4BH reported on Broward Winter FD. Scored over 10,000 points. Everyone had a good time and there was plenty to eat.
