BRARA General Membership Meeting minutes for 6 May 2025
The BRARA monthly association meeting was held in person and using Zoom conference. There were 10 attending via Zoom and 20 in the library. The meeting was called to order by BRARA Secretary Mike Greenfeld K8BQ at 6:41 pm local, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. We then went around the room and Zoom to give first time attendees a chance to introduce themselves. Our speaker this month is Carol Sjursen KJ4AWB. She will give a presentation about Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) from Concept to Deployment.

Mike has posted the April General Meeting minutes to the BRARA Blog. New members since the April meeting are Hugo Ferreira K4UGO, Fabio Santos AC2AC, Ronald Wilk KE4PTL and Rene Pelaez KR4DNA. Current membership is 110 for 2025.

Income includes $171.43 in memberships, $5,100 in donations, $350.31 for Radiator Grille attendance, and $668.10 in equipment sales
Note: $5,000 of the donations was from a single anonymous donor
Expenses: $4,509.25
Expenses include:$1,200 for air conditioner repair, $180 for one quarter web hosting, $23 for one month Constant Contact, $360.12 for Radiator Grille supplies, $1950 for shack painting, $340 for power washing shack, $232.27 for quarterly electric bill, $223.86 for one year Zoom
Not included: $50.62 for chili at Radiator Grille, $61.25 for SunBiz registration, and $230.18 for miscellaneous shack supplies
Above amounts include reserve funds of $5,000.
Balance available for operating capital after deposits and expenses clear: $7,784.99
Radiator Grille breakdown: there were 63 attendees; we took in $350.31. Our total expense was $423.03: $12.29 for name tags, $50.62 for the chili, and $360.12 for the rest of the food and supplies. Jack did a fantastic job of inventorying our supplies and only buying what was necessary for this event. The net expense was $72.72

The sale of equipment not sold at the Auction last year at the Radiator Grille was successful. Not a lot of good items yet for the next auction.

Sam thanked us for donating a couple of towers to the Tanah Keeta Scout Reservation. They are fund raising for base sections and brackets. Two Scouts just passed their Tech, making 13 since JOTA last October.
