BRARA General Membership Meeting minutes for 1 April 2025
The BRARA monthly association meeting was held in person and using Zoom conference. There were 26 attending via Zoom and 17 in the library. The meeting was called to order by BRARA President Ralph Mele W1DAR at 6:31 pm local, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. We then went around the room and Zoom to give everyone a chance to do a quick introduction. Our speaker this month is David Minster, NA2AA, ARRL CEO. He will discuss the Future of Amateur Radio..

The Shack is currently being painted. Please stay away tomorrow. When preparing for painting we found a number of damaged Venetian blinds that should be replaced. The Radiator Grille is coming up this Saturday.

Harold provided an update of the contesting training Chris, Nx4N has been providing as well as the recent contest activity for the CQ WPX contest.

Mike has posted the March General Meeting minutes to the BRARA Blog. Fran KD2CRH made a motion to accept the minutes. Jeff S K4BH, seconded the motion to accept the minutes. The motion carried. Current membership is 105 for 2025.

Expenses include: $46 for two constant contact monthly charges, $949 for liability insurance, $74.19 for shipping Icom 7610 for repair, $215.63 for Q4 electric bill for 2024, $183.87 for shack maintenance, $12.29 for Radiator Grille, and $29.99 for Google Drive Storage
Not included: $340 for pressure washing shack, shack painting, Radiator Grille food and supplies, approximately $233 for first quarterly electric bill of 2025 not yet received
Above amounts include reserve funds of $5,000.
Balance available for operating capital after deposits and expenses clear: $5,773.45

We have the Radiator Grille coming up this Saturday, April 5. We need members to help with running it. The next lunch will be May 17 at Lucille’s in Delray Marketplace. Usual time of 1 PM. Our May speaker will be Carol Sjursen KJ4AWB discussing CERT. Carol represents Florida CERT associations

BRARA will have some tables with low priced items at the Radiator Grille from previous auctions that didn’t sell at the Radiator Grille. Planning for $2, $5, and $10 tables.

George asked for help working on the VHF tower April 13. He placed 8th in the September ARRL VHF contest and 1st in the Hudson division.
