BIO: John Cole N1QFH

John is a retired IT app developer in insurance, semiconductor, consumer battery, and health care industries. He relocated from Maine to Delray Beach, Florida with his wife Beryl who is a retired dental hygienist. They are parents to five children and grandparents to four grandchildren.

Up north, John was a Board Member and volunteer on various non-profits that range from health care, athletics and education. These included School Board, Conservation Commission, Vernal Pool Studies, Wrestling Boosters at various schools, Regional Meet Director at Wrestling Championships, Maine Dental Hygienists Association, Maine Interscholastic Wrestling Officials Association. John provided (at no-cost) web-master and development support for several of these nonprofits. He is a retired NCAA and NFHS wrestling official. His past-times include ocean kayaking, SCUBA, hiking, spiritual studies, legacy writing, amateur radio, fraternal organizations (AF&AM), coaching, nature research and community volunteering.

Currently, he volunteers for Delray PD as a parking enforcement officer. He also volunteered at Arthur R Marshall National Wildlife Refuse at Boynton Beach. He belongs to many amateur radio associations that include

John serves on the Boca Raton Amateur Radio Association (CLICK HERE) as its webmaster and is its prior secretary. He also supports website footprints for other non-profits and supports many other technical needs for individuals. He is a former NAVY MARS radio operator and currently is a Florida Region 4 ARMY MARS operator. One of his pastimes is exploring new web app capabilities. His dad, Charles N1ESW (SK), was his Elmer along with John’s Uncle Frank N1DZI (SK) were also active radio operators.
