2017 ARRL Field Day

The Boca Raton Amateur Radio Association (BRARA) will be participating in Field Day again this year at our radio shack in the West Delray Regional Park located at 10875 West Atlantic Ave—west of US-441/SR-7. We will be operating as N4BRF 3E SFL within our air conditioned shack with the radios on emergency power. We can always use more radio operators on SSB and CW. This is especially true late Saturday afternoon through the wee-hours Sunday morning. Perfect for the insomniacs among us looking to get-on-the-air. Be sure to contact us on our 146.290 (110.9) repeater so that we can open the park gate for you. We have an IC-7600 and 2 Yaesu FT-1000s, 2 towers, 1 StepprIR beam, 2 Fan Dipoles, a full length 80m Vertical and an end-fed 160m as well as other Ham amenities. Bring your own keyer/paddle and/or head set, if you like. Advance special arrangements for personal radio equipment need to be made in advance! We recommend qualifying on our equipment at our shack Saturday or Wednesday morning prior to 2:00 PM EDT Field Day when the FD madness begins and all-heck-breaks-loose. Get the most out of the experience by qualifying/requalifying beforehand and not during Field Day when you could be making contacts! If you would like to participate, send me an email at KG4FUR@yahoo.com listing your preferred operating times, modes and radio. Also, any wish list items you think you need or want to bring. This will help us schedule one of the 3 stations for you. Otherwise, you may have to wait your turn or serve as a logger. Those who schedule in advance will have priority over walk-ins. Come on out, see our shack, mingle/rag-chew with other hams, operate a radio, make some contacts and most important-just have some fun!
